The Stormtration^® Grizzly Storm Drain Filter Mat removes sediment, oils and debris from stormwater and is extremely simple to install and maintain.

Now listed by PA DEP as an approved Alternative E&S BMP and qualifying as ABACT for both High Quality (HQ) and Exceptional Value (EV) watersheds. DEP limits use to a drainage area of ½ acre, equivalent to an Inlet Filter Bag.

• High Flow Rates: Designed for efficient stormwater filtration with maximum flow rates of 500 gal/min (24×24″), 550 gal/min (27×27″), 600 gal/min (24×36″), and 800 gal/min (24×48″).
• Filters Hydrocarbons: Spilltration^® Husky fibers capture oils, fuels, greases and other hydrocarbons while allowing water to pass through.
• Fits Different Drain Types: The built-in flap lays flat on a standard Type-M inlet or folds up to cover the curb opening on Type-C inlets.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) reviews alternative Erosion and Sediment Control (E&S) Best Management Practices (BMPs) for use under Pennsylvania’s Chapter 102 program and publishes the results in Alternative E&S BMPs and PCSM SCMs.

When an alternative BMP in that document has been approved by DEP and is selected for an earth disturbance project, the permit reviewer may accept the BMP as approved under Chapter 102 without further DEP review, unless the proposed use differs from the BMP reviewed by DEP.

The Grizzly Storm Drain Filter Mat is named by PA DEP as the example product for the approved Alternative E&S BMP “Inlet Filter Mat,” with a DEP review date of February 10, 2026. DEP identifies the Grizzly Mat as a replacement for an Inlet Filter Bag and limits its use to a drainage area of ½ acre, equivalent to an Inlet Filter Bag. DEP notes that identifying an example product is not an endorsement of that product.
