Description
Description
Do you have any of these problems with your current pollutant stormwater filtering socks:
- Maybe only last a month or two before they stop filtering out pollutants?
- Degrade or become moldy & smelly within months of sitting on your shelf?
- Extremely heavy and difficult to deploy?
- Not very effective at capturing multiple pollutants?
- Made from unsustainable or inconsistent materials?
- Extremely low flow rates that cause ponding or flooding?
To solve these problems, we came up with a better blend of filtering media.
Stormtration™ Char21™ Filter Socks contain the following blend of proven pollutant-capturing components:
- Chopped Switchgrass: This sustainable, bulk cellulose component is un-composted, which gives it a longer shelf life than most socks on the market. As it biodegrades over time, its affinity for locking in pollutants actually increases.
- Biochar: Large chunk (not powdered) hardwood bio-char with at least 80% carbon content that holds together longer for more pollutant removal over time.
- Re-Activated Carbon: Recycled activated carbon that has been re-baked at a production facility and brought back to at least a 95% effectiveness.
- Calcium Silicate Aggregate (CSA): A processed version of “slag.” This inert, fine-grain powder helps increase pH; and is a proven way to precipitate out heavy metals.
Key Features of Stormtration™ Char21™ Filter Socks:
- Shelf Stability: Socks can be warehoused for months with no moldy or smelly side effects.
- Lightweight: About half the weight of typical socks, allowing for more socks per pallet and easier installation by field technicians.
- Consistency: The same four ingredients are blended in the same proportions each time.
- Silt and Pollution Retention: The Char21™ blend captures sediment, heavy metals, oils & fuels.
- Longevity: Designed to perform for up to one year.
- High Flow Rates: Sock can sustain a maximum flow of 24 gallons per minute (GPM).
- Flexibility: Easily conforms around storm drains, dumpsters, ditches and outfalls.
- Heavy Metal Capture: Sock captures cadmium, zinc, nickel, chromium, copper and other metals.
- Sustainable & Natural Materials: Blend of media is made from natural, sustainable & inert materials.
- Made in the USA
